The following case highlights the thoroughness of investigations within CCRC than with their counterparts North Of the Border "SCCRC"
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article5891503.ece
Two cases spring to mind Immediately: Beattie and Robertson.
In both there is Forensic evidence available yet not utilised in the investigations by SCCRC.
Beattie was denied access to two Forensic reports both saying there was no Human Blood on the knife the prosecution used agaginst Beattie.
Further to this they also claimed there was no blood in the soil the knife was found in.
Crown also relied on the fact there was a tissue found with the same blood group as the victim, But nearly half the population 43% they said had the same blood group.
Why have our SCCRC never done the new Forensic tests like CCRC have just did with this case.
Lothian & Borders Police told SCCRC that no samples survived in Robertsons case who also just happens to be in a mental heath institute, Not surprisingly I must add, for the samples to now turn up at Aldermaston.
Yet SCCRC still drag their feet with the second application from Robertson.
