| That was the most shambolic and "staged" so called debate I have ever witnessed. - Question and Answers all rehearsed, no doubt for the benefit of Reverand MacAskill and Co. |

Its pretty hard to debate properly when you are under attack like he was and in front of TV camera's too.
And he stood by his decision and didnt back down.

Mr MacAskill said the decision to release the 57-year-old on compassionate grounds was his alone - and he stood by it.
"In Scotland, we are a people who pride ourselves on our humanity," he said.
"It is viewed as a defining characteristic of Scotland and the Scottish people.
"The perpetration of an atrocity and outrage cannot and should not be a basis for losing sight of who we are, the values we seek to uphold, and the faith and beliefs by which we seek to live."
He did however single out Westminster's handling of the affair for criticism.
"I sought the views of the United Kingdom Government," he said.
"I offered them the right to make representations or provide information. They declined to do so.
"They simply informed me that they saw no legal barrier to transfer and that they gave no assurances to the US Government at the time.
"They declined to offer a full explanation. I found that highly regrettable." |
