I think in Tobin's case, the police finally got it right.
The evidence in the case was very powerful. Circumstantial evidence is not always great but in this case it worked well. It doesn't always work out so well. I personally do not like cases based on circumstatial evidence.
When you put all the evidence in this case together, it is compelling evidence that proves his guilt. there can be no other explanation for all the evidence against him.
In 2006 they discovered that Tobin lived in 11 Robertson Avenue, Bathgate, when Vicky went missing.
11 days after Vicky went missing her purse was found. The purse was dry and its contents were intact. The purse was tested years later and DNA matched Peter Tobin's three year old son.
Tobin then swapped council houses with a couple at 50 Irvine Drive, Margate, on the Kent coast.
Tobin was witnessed digging a big hole in the garden by a neighbour. He tells the neighbour he is building a sandpit. The neighbour asked about the lack of a sandpit. Tobin made excuses to the guy about social services saying it was not recommended for his son.
The search at 11 Robertson Avenue gave a dagger with DNA matching Vicky on it.
Vicky's body was found in the area Tobin was digging to build his "sand pit"
On one of the bin bags wrapped around the body were four fingerprints.
They belonged to Tobin.
Intimate swabs from the body, which appeared to contain Tobin's DNA, also suggested a serious sexual assault.
So its a slam dunk case of guilt and I do not think there is anyone out there who believes otherwise. |

Apologies for late reply here.,
I totally agree that Peter Tobin is guilty. Furthermore, it would not surprise me if at some point he is further implicated in unsolved cases.
