If the recent proposals put forward by our Government are anything to go by then nothing much will change for the better.
They want to limit the grounds of appeals to Exactly and Only what the SCCRC state in their reasons.
They already tried this with Megrahi and their bid failed so this should fail too, but I fear this law will be passed to add more oppression on Miscarriages and allow the Courts & Crown to cover up more wrongdoings.
I see nothing in the proposals to help solve miscarriages.
I see they want to also limit the scope of evidence being released by Crown Office which will only heap more misery again on those fighting to prove their Innocence.
They are also proposing a new offence of "Misuse" of Disclosed Material ?
In effect they want to disclose material to you then GAG you with it.
They want this material to only be used for court purposes.
How much more oppressive can our country get ?
Perhaps we would get better access to justice In states like China or Pakistan.
Our Government have no intentions of making Crown Office More Accountable, Open or Transparent.
Yet there is an outcry to release why the Labour Government went to war with Iraq.
They care more about peoples opinions of them, and if too many miscarriages surface the public will look on them unfavourable.
How can we have Police going about setting people up ?
