I agree entirely Kevin. Stuart Gair is yet another of “Scotland’s sons” who has been continually shat upon, repeatedly kicked about and sent to hell and back by our very corrupt and rotten Scottish establishment over the past 18-plus years. Shame on all their houses … and be damned the lot of you for what you have done to this man (and many others) I say. God bless and watch over him … and may he find the proper help, support, counselling and friendship he undoubtedly needs and deserves … and the richly-deserved financial compensation for his many lost years and lost life.

The “Free Stuart Gair Campaign” from a decade ago had myself and many others writing and campaigning on Stuart’s behalf. At the time Stuart wrote a very harrowing, moving and eye-opening article, “My Nine Years Of Hell”, about how he was treated like a subhuman piece of garbage by Scotland’s penal and judicial system. It was a quite marvellous account of just how corrupt, criminal and cruel Scotland’s police, legal system and Crown Office can be … still is.

Ten years down the line we have the very same corrupt, criminal and cruel practices still going on (as highlighted on this and other forums), while Messrs MacAskill and Salmond stand idly by and do absolutely nothing to address these injustices at the hands of a certain bespectacled “lady” at Chambers Street in Edinburgh … hardly surprising when they approved her continued appointment and more of the same old, same old Scottish (in)justice at her murky hands.

As I said in a post a few months back:

It is usually said that a nation and government should be judged by the way it treats its people and a man should be judged by his (good and honest) deeds and actions.

Still waiting Messrs Salmond and MacAskill for you to treat Scotland’s people fairly, justly, humanely, compassionately…

And for those good and honest deeds and actions……

Which some 6 months into your SNP “ruling” administration have been nowhere to be seen … not least on the issue of Scottish (in)justice … which this forum and Pete Cherbi’s website have made patently clear for all the world to see.

Shame on your houses … and be damned indeed.

PS. Any chance of releasing these damning files guys?! You know … the ones you continue to withhold and keep well buried at SNP HQ……

In the Appeal Court judgment, Lord Abernethy concluded: "In these circumstances, we have come to the conclusion that the non-disclosure of these police statements and other information resulted in a miscarriage of justice."

Sources close to Mr Gair said that, had he lived, he would have received about £1 million in compensation.

Stuart my friend.

Today I truly cried as I read of your untimely passing. The past 18 years finally took its toll and has robbed you of the financial compensation you so richly deserved and the chance of any semblance of a normal life after the many nightmare and "hell" years of wrongful incarceration ... having been well and truly fitted up by Scotland’s corrupt, criminal and cruel police and legal establishment in 1989.

I well remember reading your harrowing account (which I still have to this day) of how you were so badly brutalized whilst inside Scotland’s penal system … stripped of any real dignity and prevented from even being able to touch and hold your love, Julie, by a wicked and heartless screw, when you knew she was probably dying.

Now you can be with her once again and embrace each other for eternity, as you so longed to do all those years ago.

Rest In Peace my friend … you deserve that at least after the past 18 years of unimaginable pain, suffering and torment … as a result of your brutal and inhumane treatment at the murky hands of some of Scotland’s bent police officers and rotten and corrupt (in)justice system.

Another unforgivable travesty of Scottish (in)justice.

WHO will be next?

Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die.

A tragedy in the real sense of the word.

Stuart Gair was a victim of a system that shames the name of Scotland.

His passing certainly makes me more determined than ever to work for reform of that system.

My thoughts are with Mr. Gair's family and friends.

Poor Stuart may you rest in peace in heaven.

And for all those scum who knowingly and wrongly convicted you of a crime that they knew you did not commit, when their time comes may they all rot and burn in Hell.

My thoughts and prayers are with Stuarts family and friends.

Very sad to hear the news of Stuart Gair's death, and just when he should have been compensated too for the terrible injustice our terrible Scottish justice system perpetrated upon him.

His death should not mitigate any inquiry or accounting which should be made upon those who caused his suffering and thrived on the injustice which destroyed his life.

Last night when I as usual lighted candles for Annie, Kevin Mcleod and for Annie Davies I lighted one more for Stuart Gair!

When I was standing there in the dark and looked at all the candles, I thought my God who
Will be next? And that brought tears into my eyes!

Do not stand at their grave and weep.
They are not there, they do not sleep.
They are the thousand winds that blow.
They are the diamond glints on snow.
They are the sunlight on ripened grain.
And the gentle autumnal rain.
When we awake in the morning hush,
They are the soft uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
They are the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at their grave and cry.
They are not there, They did not die.

Suddenly I thought about that “we are not alone” and our loved ones that are in Heaven, they are not alone!! Annie, Kevin, Annie.D and Stuart look down on us and I am sure that together they will give us the strength to go on!

And we all who loved them are not alone! And together we will be stronger and stronger in our work and fight for truth and justice.

Finally we will get the truth out in the open!! The truth can be hidden to one person if he or she does not have any supporting friends , but the truth can not be hidden to hundreds and hundreds of concerned people that work together against the non functioning Justice system!!

Their memory demands no less.

They will never be forgotten!!

And neither what happened to them!

And tonight when I light all the candles I will think of the ones that did this, to our loved ones
And I will pray that;

“Their day will come and Justice will be done!”

Our thoughts and prayers are with Stuart Gairs family and friends tonight.
