Concern over 'urine officer ' pay
A disgraced cop was paid £160,000.00 whilst suspended on full pay from Grampian Police over a period of 4 years.
He was found guilty of attempting to pervert the course of justice and awaits sentence.
North east MSP Richard Baker is writing to the Justice Minister demanding explanations....good luck to him on that particular quest!
Whilst not condoning the actions of the guilty Officer concerned in any way whatsoever, how on earth can the ineffectual Grampian Police Chief Constable, the local Procurator Fiscal in Elgin and indeed the Crown Office, justify the fact that it took more than 4 years to bring this case to a conclusion?
Did it really take 4 years for experts to examine a dodgy specimen of urine?
According to press reports on the case the PF in Elgin stated in Court that there had been no 'period of inactivity' during the enquiry?? What !!
Are we, the general public' in all honesty really expected to believe that?
The only undisputed truth is that the Scottish taxpayer yet again is footing the bill for this multi-agency legal shambles!!!
Who really is taking the pee? and from whom??
