|
|
'The Firm' magazine is compiling its 2007 list of the 100 most powerful and influential people in the Scottish legal system and has compiled a short list and poll facilities at:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=ptsTdQ2cF2kCnR_2fnYqsyQg_3d_3d
While the list is almost exclusively made up of lawyers one or two 'rogue' elements appear on this list including Jim Swire, Robbie the Pict and Iain McKie.
Given that this forum is concerned with the operation of the legal system it seems approriate that we should register a vote for those we feel have contributed most to the cause of challenging the legal system.
This is a legitimate opportunity to have your say on those within the system and perhaps effect the way our system operates.

Robbie The Pict
For people who have never heard of him i thought i should link this item i found on Ed Milne's Blog well at least on his Photobucket site.
A click on full size when you open the link below, will show it better.

I see he has also had some problems with SCCRC.
Iain, can you link where you found the Information you mention above (Ya Rogue)
Some more info on how to navigate the above linked site would be very helpful, Thanks.
Best Wishes

While Gordon Brown might have refused us a poll there are plenty of others to keep readers voting.
In addition to the 'Legal 100' poll Patrick Haseldine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Haseldine has submitted a petition to the Prime Minister re Lockerbie that is open for everyone to sign.

It is also time for the annual Herald 'Politician of the Year' awards that include 'Campaigner/campaign of the year'
http://www.theherald.co.uk/politician2007/nominate
People like Peter Cherbi spring to mind here. As many of you know he has campaigned for years to bring more openness and accountability to the Scottish Legal System.
Then there is Rose Gentle who has fought so hard to ensure that the lessons surrounding her son’s tragic death are learned and acted on.
We should show the system whenever possible that we value these campaigners even if the establishment doesn’t. |
