Can I have your thoughts please??
Police sergeat David Beattie goes on trial for attempted murder for defending himself and his son after being stabbed twice.
Jury takes 6 minutes to clear all three persons charged.
Attacker has charges against him dropped after stabbing two men!!
Total disgrace!!!!!! Another injustice! Strathclyde police are a disgrace! The Fiscals office and CPS aren't much better.
How can the cop go to court charged with attempted murder and the attacker walks away scot free when he clearly was the guy with the knife!!!!

Thankfully the jury had some sense and didnt take to long to clear the officer.
The mind boggles as to why the attacker with the knife walked scot free though, _________________ Great Spirit, grant that I may not criticize my neighbor until I have walked a mile in his moccasins." - Old Native American Indian Prayer that my dad taught me. |

| It might be helpful if we had a brief statement of the facts surrounding this knife assault. |

Sorry, but I feel you would have to give much more detail than you have here in your post. _________________ “Send not to know for whom the bell tolls – it tolls for thee.” John Donne. |

Background news on the case
Police sergeant cleared of attack
A police officer accused of hitting a man over the head with a brick and knocking him unconscious has been cleared of the attack.
Sgt David Beattie, 47, was charged with the assault on Edward Sweeney, along with his 20-year-old son Callum and Jamie Clements, 28.
The jury at Glasgow Sheriff Court took just six minutes to clear the three men, all from Glasgow.
After the hearing Sgt Beattie said: "I have always maintained my innocence."
He added: "The fact that the jury were out for only six minutes totally vindicated my position."
The court heard allegations that Callum Beattie had been stabbed by Mr Sweeney who was then said to have turned the knife on the officer.
“ I either tripped him or swept his feet away from him and both of us went crashing onto the carriageway ”
Sgt Beattie
The alleged attack happened on Blairdardie Road, Glasgow, on 18 August last year.
The court earlier heard that the officer received a phone call from his son saying he had been stabbed.
Beattie and his wife then drove to Blairdardie Road where they found Mr Beattie jnr covered in blood and Mr Sweeney running after him with a knife.
In his police interview, Sgt Beattie said: "I see this figure running towards me and I know he's got a knife, I can see the blade in his hand.
"I'm panicking because my son's trying to get in the car and I could see that he wasn't going to make it safely.
"I could see he was going to catch up with my son and I shouted something like 'hey you' to try and distract him.
"This boy was nuts, his eyes were bulging out his head and he came flying at me full speed.
Stab wound
He added: "I felt this explosion under my arm and I knew I'd been stabbed and then his next action is a second stab wound at the side of my head.
"I shouted at my wife 'phone the police' and I tried to push him away.
"I grabbed on to his clothing and I either tripped him or swept his feet away from him and both of us went crashing onto the carriageway."
Beattie added that he managed to restrain Sweeney on the ground while banging his wrist and shouting "drop the knife".
Police arrived on the scene shortly after and Sweeney and the two men were taken to hospital.
Mr Sweeney, who has previous convictions for assault and theft, was originally charged with stabbing Sgt Beattie and his son but the charges against him were dropped.
He told the court he did not have a knife and that he was attacked by the men for no reason.
