Lord Advocate Does Not Investigate CrimesThe Following letter from Allison Woods is very disturbing for two reasons:
Firstly I have serious reservations over why she can reply on behalf of the Lord Advocate and Kenny MacAskill at the same time.
Does this not create a conflict of interest ?
Secondly the Lord Advocate surely is the ultimate person and top of the tree when it comes to who is prosecuted in Scotland, so Allison Wood's letter that she will not look at a complaint regarding a breach of section 194J by SCCRC who regularly use this section to withhold evidence from Appellants is shocking in itself:

I don't think that the title of this post truly reflects the content of Ms Wood's letter to you.
She is advising you that you should report the matter to the police in align with the protocol for the investigation (and any subsequent prosecution) of crime in Scotland.
The Lord Advocate nor her secretariat, her Deputes, Procurators Fiscal (or their Deputes) do not personally carry out investigation of crime - they prosecute it. The role of the LA, PF and the remit of COPFS is to direct and oversee police ( and other reporting agencies ) investigation of crime. Deaths is different.
Hope helpful.

The Lord Advocate and her merry men and women may not investigate crimes but they can certainly prevent the police from doing so and in particular, crimes involving the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service itself.
Some system, a joke and a farce is what comes to mind!
