It was Kenny MacAskill that asked to meet Megrahi and not the other way around as suggested by Kenny MacAskill:

Willie, it appears that MacAskill has not been exactly truthfull regarding his handling of the Megrahi case. Could the arguments regarding the story that this fiasco was about trade be a well spun story to cover up the issue of the Scottish legal system stitching Megrahi up and desperate to put paid to his appeal. which they seem to have done?

After what they done last week with Megrahi, The speed they done it with, and the Manner of it, Anything is possible.

I got the big impression watching it all unfold on Television that they couldn't get megrahi out of Scotland quick enough.

While MacAskill was making his speech and claiming this was Exclusive the plane was "Mid - Flight" and he claims a deal wasn't done.

He said he visited Megrahi after representations, yet it seems he asked for the visit himself.

It then later transpires he has apparently taken the word of an Ordinary Prison Doctor over the Consultants.

When will he start telling the truth we want to know

I am not in the least surprised that macaskill was the instigator in the meeting between himself and Al Megrahi as the whole thing has been a shambolic mess from the very start for the Crown Office ( from the trial to the present day). I would dearly like to see all the facts of this case made public, but very much doubt if that will happen after witnessing the underhandedness of this very transparent cover up. Thanks to all on this site for some very interesting reading and views.
