Victims of wrongful convictions in ScotlandI would urge forum readers to watch the following video, a short news report on the difficulties of those who have been found to have been wrongfully convicted in Scotland, who, after their release,try to secure compensation for their time spent in jail :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtxzLcnQ9sk Please note the comments from those interviewed, and the rather ludicrous statements from the Justice Secretary that "the law of Scotland is when we make a mistake, we rectify it". I doubt many here, including myself, would agree with Mr MacAskill's statement in that regard otherwise of course, forums like this would have no need of existence, nor would campaigns to gain justice and cleared names for the many victims of our justice system. |

From what i have read on this forum regarding injustice I'd say a better quote would have been "the law in Scotland is when we make a mistake we cover it up." |
