We gather at The Johnston Terrace nearby the Castle Esplanade

For those wo will arrive early we have notified

Castle Arms Bar, Maxies Bistro and Hanams

that are all situated at the Johnston Terrace where you can sit
down while waiting buying coffee or tea

(but we are not allowed to wait at the Asian restaurant there)

Thoughts and Prayers are with you all on this sad day.

Will be thinking of the many cases like Annies, Kevin McLeod, Al Megrahi, Luke Mitchell and all seeking justice.

Lets hope it is the start of something our Government will take note of and make changes for people crying out for justice in many different ways.

One most important issue which affects all these cases seems to be "Non Disclosure" of damning Eculpatory evidence by Crown Office which they prefer to keep locked up in their many vaults hidden from the public for 75 years from the date of creation.

These actions by Crown must be abolished and people given access to all material evidence In All Cases.

We all know the minute we ask for material they have, it will never be handed over and this only serves to intensify our anxieties about what they are hiding.

Guje deserves a FAI and access to all evidence regarding her Daughters untimely demise at the very least.

Lockerbie bomber's wife in justice protest

EDINBURGH (AFP) — The wife and children of the man jailed over the Lockerbie bombing marched on the Scottish parliament Thursday in a protest weeks after a court rejected his bid to be freed on bail because he has cancer.

Aisha Al-Megrahi and her family joined in the four-hour demonstration in Edinburgh.

Her husband Abdelbaset Ali Mohmet Al-Megrahi, 56, is in a British prison for downing a US transatlantic airliner over the Scottish village of Lockerbie in December 1988, killing 270 people.

The Libyan former intelligence officer is serving life with a minimum term of 27 years for blowing up Pan Am flight 103 from London to New York.

He now has advanced prostate cancer, but a Scottish court rejected his appeal last month to be freed on bail because of his health.

Lawyer Tony Kelly read out a statement on behalf of the bomber's wife.

"My children and I are here today to give support to my husband Abdelbaset, who is a victim of a miscarriage of justice and terminally ill, and also to give support to all those other victims of miscarriages of justice," it said.

"We are here for the sake of all those innocent souls who are suffering in silence.

"I call upon the people of Scotland, whom I know to be compassionate people, and all humanitarian institutions to consider the suffering of my husband.

"He is an innocent and very ill man, who is suffering every day from both psychological and physical stress, and I ask all to raise their voices in his support.

"Let us pray for justice and accomplishment of the truth."

Al-Megrahi was sentenced in 2001 by three Scottish judges sitting at an extraordinary tribunal in The Netherlands.

The demonstration, called the Silent Walk For Justice, aimed to highlight a number of high-profile cases of alleged miscarriages of justice.

Protesters carried candles and photographs of loved ones they say were let down by the legal system.

I would like to thank Guje and Maria for bringing so many people together like they did.

To bring Al Megrahi's wife out for her first public appearance was a wonderful achievement.

I was sad not to hear on TV about Annie and Guje but I am sure both her and Maria are overwhelmed with the response to THEIR IDEA and THEIR hard work and dedication.

WELL DONE GUJE AND MARIA.

You both did a wonderful thing and it won't be forgotten.

Well done again Guje and Maria.

You should both be very proud of what you both did today for Annie's case and all the other cases of injustice in Scotland today.

But it came as no surprise that Kenny MacAskill didn't show face and it appears his spokesperson didn't quite tell the truth, if this quote is correct :

Organisers had hoped to meet with Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill, but a spokesperson for Mr MacAskill said: "He has nothing to do with this and was never asked to be involved.

"He is very busy this afternoon and has been in parliament all afternoon."

And when Maria then attempted to hand in all the injustice cases file she had painstakingly put together for Kenny MacAskill to receive outside the parliament, the parliamentary officers were instructed to refuse receipt of it there and then and she would have to post it instead! Clearly, MacAskill and Salmond just don't want to know about all these cases of injustice. How very predictable.

Sad too that the Megrahi campaigners attempted to hijack the event, but fortunately we were able to prevent them from walking at the front, and Guje and Maria led the Silent Walk for Justice proudly down The Royal Mile behind the lone piper and were where they rightly belonged. Guje also gave a very good public speech outside the Parliament (whilst the crowd waited on MacAskill to appear!) and that was very well received with a warm applause.

Altogether quite an achievement for the two from Sweden who did Annie and many others suffering injustice proud.

The fact No one from the Kennys office came out shows them up

it would have taken FIVE MINS for them to come out and make a statement. Its not like they did not know this was happening. They would have made time for other demos I am sure.

They made time for me and other supporters who where international lawyers. They should make time for the people in this country who elect them. In fact the Scottish people who protest should get more attention.

However since this was with much media attention it really has shown Kenny and his office up. I agree with you on this Al.
Guje and Maria have really highlighted something in this country and should be applauded loudly

Edit after reading news article: No one from the Scottish Government acknowledged this protest which was one of some importance.
This shows to me that they just do not care what us the public think at all. And shows that we need to pressure them even more on a constant basis

One of the reasons I did not attend the Silent Walk was because I felt it would have distracted attention from Annies Case, I also had other commitments.

I told Guje I did not want to impinge upon Annies case and felt very strongly that the walk would not have been about Annies case, I was right.

Al Megrahi I support 100% in his Innocence and feel he should be released like Cambell & Steel etc and I am willing to support him in any protest, but today was not meant to be about any one issue more than the other and I think Guje deserved a bit more attention and say in the press.

There was only one case the media was really interested in, This is very evident from the latest media reports.

Not one carries a photo of Annie, Guje or Maria.

As much as I support all these cases, Too many protesting about different issues could only have been confusing and I knew the press would pick one main one to concentrate on.

Can I suggest that the next event if any is planned that we could maybe all concentrate and support "One Case" at a time.

The Arrogance of Kenny MacAskill and our Government not to at least accept the issues from the people who elected them, shows the interest in "Miscarriages" is way way down their list of priorities, This must change and I would really appreciate if anyone could come up with any suggestions on doing so.

I know Wednesdays and Thursdays are committee days for SNP and they are busy on these days, Perhaps the Demo could have been better timed and placed, I do not know, but something went seriously wrong when our Justice Secretary refused to meet the people.

A Damn Shame on him too.

Perhaps we could all send him an E-Mail and let him know of our disgust at him and that we have absolutely no confidence in his actions as Justice Secretary and he would be better placed to hand the job over to someone with a bit more compassion for the scottish People and someone who is willing to listen, Clearly Mr MacAskill does not fit this bill.

Mr MacAskill your contempt for the people of Scotland (And Visitors) is "Appalling"
