W Roughead,

Have you visited http://www.shirleymckie.com/

I know Mr McKie has been busy with the enquiry but I am sure he would be around to answer any questions you may have on Shirleys case.

If you have any thoughts on the case please feel free to post them

Yes  to both questions.

I am very well versed in matters legal.

I did state in my last post that I had already visited that site, earlier last week.

Thank you for getting back to me.

sorry, I did not let the part of your post where you said you had been on the other site sink in.  Very Happy Wink I agree, Shirley Mckie's case has been an awful injustice and I know it is not over yet. Hopefully something good will happen with the enquiry.  I am the eternal optomist.

How right you are Mr/Madam  Fiscal and this year's Inquiry will reveal that while it was a farce it was far from a laughing matter.

Best wishes to you and yours at Christmas  and I hope 2009 brings you some understanding.

Mr McKie, I have no interest personally into the Shirley McKie enquiry, my father was a Senior Officer involved at the time so I have plenty of personal knowledge on the matter!

In a professional capacity I find the case to be of interest and as a prosecutor I naturally side with my colleagues in Crown Office.

Regards to you.

MR Fiscal

Interesting, Mr Fiscal. Clearly the truth about what happened is of no real interest to you, as you "naturally" side with your colleagues.

I once believed that justice didn't "take sides" - the facts are supposed to speak for themselves.

Similarly, your plentiful "personal knowledge" is, presumably, based on what your father has told you (I'm guessing you weren't right there, working alongside him), and is therefore personal opinion, based on information from someone else.

I'd be interested to know if you have "information" from your father which was not available to Shirley McKie, or any of the others on "the other side," since you are so adamant about what is and is not disclosable.

Would somebody please enlighten me? I have to admit that I was not in the room when the jury returned their verdict, but I was told it was 15 for "Not Guilty," zero for any other verdict. And again, please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the judge commend Ms. McKie from the bench following the reading of the verdict? Exactly what did your father tell you?

Pat

Obviously Fiscal hasn't done his homework very well eh ?

My understanding was exactly the same as yours and yes "Lord Johnston" did commend Shirley.

He obviously saw through Crown Office's corrupt practices.

No wonder we have so may Innocent people behind bars when we have Fiscal's that can't even spell, Farce has a "C" and not an "S"

But then again Fiscal's are used to getting things wrong like dates too for instance.

Wonder if our Fiscal had anything to do with them getting their dates mixed up when I was charged with chaining myself to the doors of SCCRC on 30th march yet the charge I pled guilty to clearly states the 20th March.

The Court is just as bad for accepting such a plea which only came to light after I had plead Guilty.

Hindsight:
No wonder the Fiscal was stuttering when reading out the police statements and could only mutter "On This March Date" instead of reading the date of the statements from the police.

My dear Fiscal,
So if you witness two police assaulting someone who later comes before you on police assault charges, Would you obviously side with the police ?

You are an absolute disgrace to the Fiscal's office and should be relieved from office without delay.

You have proven in one line exactly what people like myself have been saying for years to be true, There is a cultutre within the legal profession to turn a blind eye to matters concerning justice in order to cover up for colleagues.

Thanks ever so kindly for clearing up this matter.

But we already knew with the case of Shirley McKie that this happens more often than not.
