Al

The Crown Office can't surely think anyone will believe that explanation it was the undertakers ...

Amazing what people in high office will do to cover up their misdeeds ... and about time an FAI was given to the Borgesson case.

Couldn’t agree more Peter.

The article re Annie was rather disappointing, too brief and not accurate. But it is good the case is still getting the publicity it deserves and Messrs Salmond and MacAskill are seeing that the case is not going away.

You do wonder how they sleep at night knowing that, with the click of their fingers, they could order an independent inquiry into Annie’s case to get to the bottom of what really happened to her in the days and hours leading up to her untimely passing, as well as the subsequent lazy, botched, inept and incompetent police “investigations” and decision making processes by the Scottish Crown Office – their good friend and appointed Lord Advocate, Elish Angiolini, is in the frame there of course, so I suppose it comes as no surprise that they are so intransigent over this case, and the others documented on this forum, being reopened and thoroughly investigated.

Messrs Salmond and MacAskill, those two protectors of sacred cows, really should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves over their conduct in this case – and all the others highlighted on this forum over the past 6 months … and the one at SNP HQ they are determined to keep buried.

I’ll leave it to Iain and Peter to sum up the current stay of play in our battles for the truth and justice for ourselves, our loved ones and others we seek to help:

This does not auger well for our hopes for the future. (As things currently stand with Messrs Salmond and MacAskill, it certainly doesn’t auger well at all)…

http://shirleymckie.myfastforum.org/sutra817.php#817

... and all the while the Scottish Executive sits back, knowing the levels of injustice in Scotland, and does nothing. Truly disgusting. (Couldn’t have put it better myself Peter – it is / they are … TRULY DISGUSTING … and they have no defence to that charge now)…

Peter Cherbi’s excellent article re the appalling Annie Borgesson case:

http://petercherbi.blogspot.com/2...-crown-office-gets-away-with.html

Messrs Salmond and MacAskill: I lay down the challenge to you both once again to come on to this forum and explain your depraved indifference and glaring inaction over this shocking case … nothing to do with the fact that your friend and appointed Lord Advocate, Elish Angiolini; your Scottish Crown Office; and your Scottish Police are in the frame for public scrutiny and damning criticism is it?

While I’m reminding you both of your depraved indifference and glaring inaction:

http://shirleymckie.myfastforum.org/sutra475.php#475

Oh, and I nearly forgot:

What about that one which you are both still burying deep in the vaults of SNP HQ? You know the one I’m talking about guys. Nothing to do with the fact that a certain Cabinet Secretary FOR JUSTICE (et al) is involved / responsible is it?

In time folks…

“It’s time … for a government Scotland can trust”. Do me a favour… !

Thanks for that link Al.

Guje. Dignified and telling support for Annie. There are many important questions that must be answered by the police and PF.

MSP Aileen Campbell continues to campaign on Annie’s behalf but even she is finding it difficult to obtain a police response.

This matter will be taken up next week.

I take it that we will be informed of the memorial service details when available.

Guje and Maria intend to be in Scotland between 25 November and 9 December to attend a memorial for Annie, carry out some campaigning and meet politicians.

MSP Aileen Campbell continues to try and obtain answers from Strathclyde Police and Guje recently wrote the following letter to the Lord Advocate.

Monday 29 October 2007

Dear Ms Angiolini,

My daughter, Annie Borjesson (7 February 1975 – 4 December 2005)

A formal appeal for the release of all case file documents and CCTV footage currently being withheld from me by Scottish Crown Office re my daughter’s case

As you are aware, my daughter Annie Borjesson was found dead on Prestwick beach in Ayrshire, on the west coast of Scotland, on Sunday 4 December 2005. As the second anniversary of my beloved daughter’s premature and very suspicious death rapidly approaches, I am writing to you with this formal appeal for the release of all case file documents and other relevant evidence currently being withheld from me by your Scottish Crown Office re my daughter’s case.

Without that withheld evidence I will never be able to properly grieve for my child or have any peace of mind for the rest of my life, knowing, as only this mother does, that my child DID NOT take her own life (as has been cruelly and wrongly suggested by yourselves) nor was she involved in any tragic accident. My daughter most probably met her premature death as a result of foul play and I am not the only one to hold that firm belief.

This is what I am formally requesting from you once again:

1. All case file documents (including the full witness list) and other relevant evidence from the Scottish Police Investigation into Annie’s death, currently being withheld from me in your possession.

2. The CCTV footage (currently being withheld from me in your possession) from Saturday 3 December 2005, in which Annie is seen at Prestwick Airport at 3.15pm and on Station Road at 4.05pm.

3. A recent Sunday Mail article (Undertakers Hack Off Annie's Locks, 21 October 2007) states: But the Crown Office have revealed it [Annie’s waist-length hair] was cut by funeral staff who did not want the family to see it matted in mud and debris from the sea …… The Crown Office said: "It was cut while preparing the body for transfer.” I would also like to have all the documents in your possession in this regard.

In a letter to me from your Scottish Crown Office on 12 February this year, it was argued that these withheld files and the CCTV footage could not be released to my family as it was not in the public interest to do so. There is now a huge groundswell of public support and interest in Annie’s case here in her homeland of Sweden, her adopted home of Scotland, throughout the UK and several other countries worldwide.

Below this letter are hyperlinks to a recent Edinburgh Evening News article; to my daughter’s website (and others) and her Guestbook; and to the Shirley McKie Forum. I firmly believe that the comments and serious concerns therein adds even further weight to my contention that Annie’s very suspicious death is now a “matter of general public concern” and therefore now satisfies your “public interest test” for releasing all relevant files (and the CCTV footage) in relation to her death to my family, and for you to now initiate Fatal Accident Inquiry proceedings.

From one mother to another I make this formal appeal to you:

Please fully co-operate with my family over these serious unresolved issues, as the second painful anniversary of my daughter’s very suspicious and premature death fast approaches in five weeks time.

Many thanks for your time, co-operation and help.

I look forward to hearing from you personally as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,

Guje Borgesson

(Annie’s devastated Mother)
