Having starting looking for help in the fight for help for Brendan Dixon 3 and a half years ago i found only one group dedicated to Miscarraiges of justice in Scotland , Mojo.

Now if you look at the web there are groups starting up everyday about the subject, is all them needed or does it dilute the cause.

Also forums since i started looking i think the only ones were The Mckie forum and a search for justice if you look now there are treble that, are they all needed most have the same cases the same story.

A computer can let people see about injustice but is that better than doing the old fashion things like campaigning to the people that should hear it most the local community where our injustice happened.

The way things are going Miscarraiges will not benefit from all these sites.

And thats a fact.

Websites highlighting cases can and do get attention, along with the good old fashioned method.

Most people today do a lot of their letter writing, campaiging etc online.

I know the internet was a very valuable tool in the Kenny Richey Campaign and let me reach people I would never have reached otherwise.

It is good that there are more sites and more forums. It does not matter that the same cases are on the sites. Perhaps someone will find out about a case via a search, or by chance.

I do not know how Miscarriages of Justice cannot benefit from there being more information and sites out there.

No matter how many sites there are out there, everyone is doing their bit for miscarriage of justice victims and that can only be a good thing in my eyes.

Given the actual level of injustice in Scotland, we may actually be looking at an 'underkill' of injustice websites, not an overkill - but that of course is down to those in power who are seemingly not listening to victims and seemingly unwilling to help victims of injustice, preferring to preserve the system as it currently stands ...

I think the problem with the media lies in the fact that some stories of injustice are not 'sensational' enough to be run in newspapers, and some stories of injustice, for instance those which may involve injustice caused by the legal profession may be unattractive to newspapers simply because 'the lawyers wont like it' ... part of the feedback I have had from editors over the years wary of expecting a threatening call from Drumsheugh Gardens ...

The internet, less likely to succumb to the censors of organisations who cause injustice, or the reluctance of the 'mass media' to publish predicaments of injustice, is a great tool for those who cannot get their plight heard simply because someone feels its not worthy a story for print, or because someone simply doesn't want the issue published ...

So, until injustice itself is curtailed, or people in high places with the power to end injustice or attend to the problems & hardship the legal system inflicts on people, the web should be used as much as possible to give the individual a voice, which is surely everyone's right to have.

I'm with Scotkaz and Peter on this one. It's not just "cases" these sites highlight - I've learned a lot about our legal system, with all its little quirks and foibles that no-one except lawyers and judges know about, I've learned a lot about our media, made masses of contacts in various different fields - I think the more sites we have, the better.
Even after six years, I still find new cases, new information, new sites (new to me, that is) - I don't know if that means the problem is getting worse, or awareness is growing - maybe it's both - whatever it is, now, I know about them - six years ago I didn't. That can only be a good thing.
