Many thanks for that Peter.

Yes, i'm aware of the terrible threats and intimidating behaviour you have had to endure over the years, and all because you speak the truth and try to help others.  Despicable the way you and your family have been treated over many years by the "good people of the Borders" and the "great and the good" in Scottish society generally - Drumsheugh Gardens and their Star Chamber operations in particular.  Not a good advert for anyone wishing to move to Scotland really, is it? ... especially if they eventually have to pursue injustice when here.

Scottish Borders Council have quite a track record in wrong-doing and trying to cover up for their incompetence, inaction and mismanagement.  You just need to look at the appalling Ms X case to see how incompetent that council has been over the years.  A horrific business the whole sordid affair, with the social work chief getting the big golden handshake and bailing out without being properly held to public account - which is always the way in these cases of wilful neglect and abuse of course ... (whilst vulnerable social work clients have been under the supposed "care" and "protection" of local authoritiies in Scotland)  ... never any proper public accountability and the sacred cows in charge get well protected, very often by their local and national politico buddies (Tom Aitchison at Edinburgh City Council being a perfect example of that ... ain't that so my good friends at SNP HQ?).

Speaking of neglect cases:

Any chance of replying to the letter of Friday 30 November 2007, Mr Salmond? ... and coming across with those very damning case files and photographs currently being well buried at SNP HQ.  You were first asked to return all these sensitive and confidential case files 10 MONTHS AGO after all - 3 months before you were elected as First Minister.  How long does this theft of property, criminal collusion, cover up, denials and repeated LIES have to continue?  Don't tell me you are STILL protecting your "Justice" Secretary (who was very heavily involved in covering up the case concerned from August 1999 onwards) are you?

Still waiting for these files and that unreserved apology from you, MacAskill and the SNP Mr Salmond...

You know the central Edinburgh address and ex-directory phone number by now...

Thanks again Peter.

All the very best,

Al

Hi Al

I agree with Iain that a change of tactics and perhaps wider publication of those cases will do a lot of good, and will be only too willing to help in that endeavour.

I don't think I can adequately describe what happened to my family in the Borders, but my blog gives a fairly good indication of it.

You mentioned the Miss X case. I remember that case vividly, wrote about it on my blog, and I know the reporter on the Scotsman, now retired, whose honesty & professionalism saw that, through his reporting of events in the national press, justice was done.

I take it there are parallels between what you are writing about and what happened in the Miss X Case. If that is so, and if the Government are doing nothing about it, then whoever knows about it should be out of a job for doing nothing or they should remedy the injustice immediately.

I remember very well how official after official and Departmental Chiefs covered up for each other in the Borders over the Miss X Case, a savage abuse case which the victim endured for years at the hands of her abusers, all known about at the Council and in some sections of the community, and all they could do was hide documents & obstruct parliamentary inquiries.

If anyone wants to read more about the MissX case, see the following links :

& here : http://news.scotsman.com/topics.cfm?tid=649&id=1112712003

As with Miss X, and injustice in general, the issues must be reported and published, drawn to the attention of the country and the community so that what has happened will not happen again.

So, publicise it Al, if you can. There are people willing to help and all issues of injustice, particularly where vulnerable people are suffering needlessly, must be addressed.
