Think of the enormity of this allegation if true, that Police misled a Court thereby perverting the course of justice, provided the means to undermine a crown witness, stuffed a fiscal - who they are meant to be working for, and to what end?
Perhaps the answer is somewhere in:- to assist in the failed prosecution of a defendant who happened to be a serving police officer.
Expect the fiscal who is looking at this to prosecute - if true, expect transparency and justice, I won't hold my breath. If any fiscal prosecutes any cop for perverting the course of justice you may as well throw away the keys to Barlinnie, as you will be emptying it on appeals. And THAT is always the real reason that any alleged corrupt practice amongst police or fiscals is never brought to Court. Justice must always be SEEN to be above approach, a thin visual veneer over a corrupt system, better that the public never find out, isn't it? |
